Hello today I did the poetry slam I made it using google drawing below is a screen shot but before that I will explain. So I chose squash because this is my favourite sport it is a racket sport and an indoor sport. If you want to learn more have a look at this site here. This is a great poem letter to Squash. I think if squash read this it would make them feel pretty happy.
I also really like that you have shared a link in the intro to help your reader find out more about the sport – it’s a nice touch to your post.
If I had to write a letter to something it would probably be to…. that’s a tough question! I can think of a few things I appreciate – dance, coffee, my car, Netflix, Music… Probably if I had to pick one it would be to music because that helps a whole lot of the others! Was it an easy choice for you to pick squash? If you had to pick an object what would you choose to write a letter to?

I think it was a tough decision because I do love squash, hockey and cricket. An object I would pick would probably be my bed because I get tired after all the sport. What dance and music are you into?

Wow that’s a lot of sport! From the list you have given it would seem you like hitting sports – would that be a fair assumption? Have you tried golf or baseball before?
Haha! Oh I love my bed too! That would be a great choice.
I used to do a whole range of dance when I was in school – Hiphop was my favourite but I did Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Hiphop. I was really into musical theatre too. I love all types of music anything with a really good beat – these days though I mainly listen to the wiggles (unfortunately)!

I have tried golf before that is a sport that a couple of my friends and I like to play as a casual sport on the weekends if we have free time. I have never tried baseball though so maybe in high school I could give it a go if I am not to busy.
I do like music but not really a certain type just the radio really so you get a mix.

Fair enough, music can get a tad repetitive if you listen to the same artists over and over again.

Kia ora Benjamin. Phil form the Poetry Slam team here. I enjoyed reading your swash poem. I used to play a lot of squash back in England. I remember it being a good feeling knowing that you were getting better, even if you were losing games! So I’m sure you’ll learn a lot from playing the adults. Do you think you’d like to perform some of your poems and share the recordings on your blog?
